Frisian Children

Children in Fryslân are no different from those anywhere else and because there is more space here than in the area around the big cities tend to grow up more freely with plenty of opportunity to play and explore in the open air.

One of the greatest pleasures for the kids is a good winter with plenty of snow and ice, but not too cold, so they can enjoy ice skating on the many canals that traverse the province, or go out with their sleighs. Summer may bring plenty of opportunities for soccer or fishing, swimming and exploring along the canals in the countryside.
