PreviousFrisian Folklore , Fryslân
"Fierljeppen" is a typical Frisian piece of folklore, born from the necessity of farm boys to jump across the many canals traversing the land. This has grown into a sport and may be seen during festivities, like here in the village of Kimswerd (Kimswert in the Frisian language), just to the south of Harlingen.
