A painting depicting a young Skanderbeg (left) and his two brothers being farewelled by their father to be taken as hostages by the Turks in the Skanderbeg Museum at the Kruja citadel; the fortress later was the stronghold of the national hero Skanderbeg (Skënderbeu or George Kastrioti) between 1443 and 1468 in his struggle against the Ottoman Turks.
